15 years ago I had all the signs and symptoms of cancer of the colon. I spent half of Friday in the hospital and the specialist said ‘It is difficult to think of any other possible diagnosis which fits the facts.’ There was to be a final test on the Monday. I left the hospital and took a walk. I was startled by the brilliance of the colours of the streets. Several people looked and me and smiled as they saw a deep peace on my face. I spent the weekend of deepest happiness. All my worries disappeared – ‘I might be dead in six months.’ I truly for once tock no anxious thought. On the Monday the test showed that I have nothing seriously wrong and by the end of the week my brow was furrowed again.
